Souray was once selected as an NHL All-star. Souray proved that he has one of the hardest and most dangerous slap-shots in the entire NHL. He is only 29 and still has great years in front of him.

On the other hand, Streit is 28. What has he proved so far ? Absolutely Nothing.

BTW, some habs fan ignores the power and importance of Souray's lethal shot.
Facts speak for themselves...

# of Souray goals against Carolina during the series : 3
# of goal(s) of all our other defencemen combined : 1

Souray is a true character guy.. Type of player that can lead you far in the playoffs. In my book, he's a keeper.

And to all the doubters, here's a reminder :

I am not questionning sourayès value at all, I am questionning his shot which is just as much anywhere arround the goal as it is powerfull and because it is powerfull we mostly give the puck to the other team if he misses the nets or our D can't keep the puck inside. Outside of his shot he does not bring anything on the PP IMO. Yes he is a good Dmen to have, far better defensively then his occasional brain cramp can lead us to believe. He has attitude and leadership but I would not use him on the firt PP squad.. may be the second. Heck I would rather have Komi and Markov then Souray Markov.
