TSN has an article saying the Hawks have hired Mark Hardy, who was here in LA for 7 seasons, as assistant coach.

Here in LA Hardy was in charge of the defense and penalty killing units. However don't let the TSN article fool you. That PK unit that was 3rd in the NHL that they were talking about was not "last season" as the article suggests. Because for 2005-2006, the Kings were dead last in the NHL on the penalty kill. It was for the 2001-2002 season, which somehow the CP or TSN twisted into "last season". Hardy's a nice guy and all, but last year when the PK obviously wasn't working and neither was the power play (which wasn't Hardy's job) the Kings seemed reluctant to change either to try and get something going. It's part of the reason Andy Murray, Mark Hardy, and the rest of Murray's staff have been looking for jobs.
