You have signed players as free agents

How did the failed experiment of having $60-$70 million payrolls work out?Just because the Rangers have the salary cap room to make a big splash DOESN'T mean they should waste their cap space on inferior players

Larry Brooks wrote in the THN draft preview, the Rangers will look to invest in a blue chip forward most likely in 2007 than this summer and will look to improve their defense through FA this summer. There are no blue chip fowards available this summer
the numbers i got (which were different for our signed players for 2006-07) were from www.outsidethegarden.com under salaries, ozo is not going to count against the cap being he will be in rehab and then banished to hartford

the failed experiement was because there was no youth, just overpaid veterans looking to collect a paycheck, with the right balance of youth and veterans this could be a much better team, im not saying we should sign players to sign them but we should defintely dip into UFA

as for brooks saying we will wait til next year, he is barely ever right, so anything he says is basically just speculation, sather is not going to only sign 2 UFA's he is going to sign 3-4 at least and i think one of them will be a bigger name mckee/chara/redden/arnott etc type if not two of them
