It's going to be VERY interesting to see how he handles this. There's an opportunity here to retain 1-2 key pieces (Kessel, Grabo, JVR?) move the rest and do a proper rebuild without cutting corners. There's also an opportunity to keep all these guys and move forward with an expensive team that isn't quite good enough to really contend.
I hope for Toronto's sake that they take route #1, but I fear for a number of reasons (Burke firing, the Jays spending without regard for the future, MLSE's history of tradmill teams) that it will be #2.
