I dont think we see any true "surprises" like Smith last year for awhile, but I'm going to throw Victor Bartley's name into the mix. Ads fans have been saying he is their best Dman, and if he is called up due to injuries, I could see him ending up as a very solid #4/5 guy. Bartley gives you some offense. Jarvinen gives you a stay at home D-man with size. If the Preds need some more scoring, go with Bartley. If they need a human bulldozer in front of their own goal, definitely Jarvinen. Jarvinen is a big hitter near his own blueline. Bartley doesn't throw many checks. Jarvinen is 3" inches taller and 20 lbs heavier than Bartley. I have seen more checks from Blum or Ellis than Victor.
