Leafs obviously need Center help, and I believe Bolland would slide in nicely as a top 6 center.

Kulemin, struggled last year. but is 2 years removed for a 30 goal season, and is effective even when not scoring.

Both players have similar contracts, expiring in 2 years... and are both 26 years old.

From the Leafs perspective, Kulemin straight up for Bolland is a bad idea.

Yes, Bolland is one of the best 3rd line centres in the league. But, as evidenced by the fact that he can't even win a job as a #2 in Chicago, he'll likely never be more than that. Toronto's weakness at centre is not in the #3 position. They've got Tim Connolly, Matt Lombardi, and Jay McClement. Toronto's weakness at the centre position is the fact that Tyler Bozak is the #1. Dave Bolland isn't going to do anything to address that weakness.
