I agree....the players listed are not at the end of their careers. They can still play for the next 4 years.

Roy's trade was necessary given how last season ended.

Gaustead was going to be a UFA and Buffalo wasnt sure it could make the playoffs...so move him for something, and maybe you could resign him in the offseason...I did not expect such a contract he got from Nashville.

They have 3 young centers. If two of them can replace the skill set of Drury and Brierre Buffalo isnt all that far away from being in the mix.

Last season they went through a period of injuries where Miller was out, 2 of their 3 big D-men (Ehrhoff, Myers, and Regehr) were out , along with Ennis and a few other forwards. Outisde of this from Novemeber-January they played at a winning PCT equal to the best in the eastern confernece. This 20+ game losing skid cost them the playoffs.
