I'm not an expert on the Wings cap situation - but I'd bet they've got plenty of room to pay Subban $6M. They're going to cycling through a lot of the older players currently on the roster with their prospects, and that (along with Lidstrom's cap space) would leave them plenty of room for Subban.
Like I said before - it's a low probability, but there are definetely teams that desperately need a guy like PK, and could easily afford to make an 5 year offersheet in the $5.5-6.5M range.
even if the Flyers did buy-out Brière - his salary would still count against the cap.
unless they can trade some salary, i don't see it happening.
as for Detroit... they do have the space for this year; but they have a lot of players to resign for next year. and with the cap space going down to $64.3M - it would make for a tight fit.
i doubt Detroit would pull the trigger - but i mos def don't see how Philly could.
