I think the fact that these are historical records DOES account for the era he played in. 200 points in today's NHL is not realistic, and that makes sense. But the fact that he was 75 points better than anyone else in a year proves how ridiculous the records are in the context of the era he's played in. The fact that he has over 3000 points whereas nobody else has over 1900 proves that regardless of era, he was insane.
