Even if you look at the Original 6 logos they contain a variety of styles, not to mention most of them have changed significantly over the years.
Montreal's is incredibly simple and graphic while Detroit and Chicago's are super detailed and descriptive. New York's is a shield. Boston's is a letter in a circle. Toronto has gone back and forth between detailed and streamlined.
I hope it doesn't mean just slapping a star in a circle and writing the team name around the edges. That trend has come and gone.
I see all of those logos as traditional. Blackhawks is basic. Sure it's a detailed drawing but it's just an iconic face profile, no wording. Detroit's is the same, Toronto is a leaf. Stars current logo on the other hand is not traditional at all. Very busy with wording of the city and team name.
