I don't totally doubt that, however, we're talking about a guy who has had one year, and in arbitration a case can be made, by the Rangers, that it's only been one year and a huge reward based on solely that would be irresponsible. Malik was paid $2.5MM in the open market, which was considered to be high, and his +/- in the previous year was +35, exactly the same as Rozsival. Some may have argued that Malik is more experienced and has been more steady throughout his career and thus would garner more (and being a UFA, quite often you would get more), which is why I'd argue an arbitration reward would be somewhere below $2MM per.
