As a Blues fan (yes they aren't my favourite but I still watch most games), I don't see the reason not too. Halak is capable of being a 60-game #1 goalie. If say, you got Matt Frattin and a 3rd round pick + a back-up goalie who has great AHL numbers and looked decent in his first NHL stint - it's a deal I make. It adds a ton of value.

I see Frattin as a 25-25 guy, while I see Scrivens being a .910 SV% guy as a backup. Add in a 3rd round pick and I think the value is too good to pass up. Again, I consider this an overpayment. For a guy like Halak, Toronto would have to be offering Reilly & Gardiner +.
