To be precise, there is nothing really in the new CBA that changed things much for guys coming off ELC. I think the big difference is not the CBA itself, but the feeling among owners in general that the Cap will not be going up over the coming 2-3 years, whereas before it was always going up so long-term deals were more attractive as one could hope that the player would outgrow the contract.

I think in the end, they will sign a 3 year deal at around $4.25M per. That will make the next contract come with 1 year left before UFA status hits.
