Wait! Let me defend my draft

Goalies provide a lot of the points in the league.

Mid-tier 'filler' defensemen really don't provide any fantasy stats to help your team.

Having a missing defenseman is not a big deal. I'd rather tag-team in and out a couple extra forwards who score 20 goals and 40 points than bother with a defenseman who is going to put up 5 goals and 10 assists and 50 pm in a regular season. Especially as a keeper league, there is going to be plenty of 20 goal, 40 assist veteran forwards, even some with penalty minutes, that people aren't goina want to give roster spots to over youngsters.

Goalies have all the value because they give the most fantasy stats. And when you only have 2-3 goalies determining that entire section, you can dominate with just goalies.

You got 3 good goalies who can you start non-stop. Then you got a few guys who might have starting jobs this year/see lots of duty. You find out who is winning out (if any) and throw them in the mix. Monopolies are good

Then you drop the slacker backups for some veteran forwards to toss in to boost your points.
