Matter of cultural perspective. Absolutely, booing seems funny, "animal"-like to Europeans.

If you want to see "aggressive whistling" in action, check out the clip below. Slovan's most nervous home game this season. Lots of fighting. And whistling, too. For example, at 0:57, the visiting team (Astana) are on a power-play. At 2:00, Janus deflects a penalty shot. Followed by a fight.
