Honestly, it's nice that Americans try not to lump Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia together, but this is not like calling every Asian, Chinese. Those 3 countries were one country and are very culturally similar (especially central (Kiev) to Eastern Ukraine). They all have the KHL option. Still your point stands since there aren't a lot of those guys either. If there's no Anti-Russian bias then this decision was even worse.
