I got to sit by Ralph Backstrom and his wife during the first period. She told us it was the first time he had ever seen the Calder, since the actual trophy didn't exist when he won it. He just received a plaque. But his name is engraved on it now, of course.

(aaaand ... I like Parenteau and Mitchell a lot, noticed them multiple times. Duchene was flying, and once Landeskog started playing, he was a beast. He was slow starting. EJ tried to make too many perfect passes, many of which were picked off, but otherwise looked good. Varly makes me very very very happy.)

(and Cody McLeod needs to change his number and his name and dye his hair, he is such a marked man by the officials)
