Quite frankly, I would rather watch 4 minutes of 5v5, than 2 minutes of a PP and then a PK. 5on5 and the ebb and flow of it are what make hockey great. More scoring isn't better if it all comes on the power play.

This messing around with the rules and the reffing has to stop.
It was the same in 96 during the first crackdown, and then 2005/06 when there was a huge spike in powerplays. The players need to adjust, and it'll take a couple of months, especially given no training camps.

Moving towards tighter reffing and actually calling the rulebook is a good thing.
