On top of that the Flyers have traded away a lot and thrown away a lot at the nod of Bobby Clarke to create a locker room atmosphere that they like. Regardless of how Subban has his head screwed on, whether rumors are greatly exaggerated or not, you can't believe the upper echelon of Flyersdom is jumping into this without any kind of caution.
It doesn't help that the Canadiens management doesn't seem to feel he's worth the contract he would be getting in Philadelphia should he be traded here
. Why give up a guy like Couturier for that?
I would not trade Couturier straight up for Subban. Market wise that is fair, but as far as value within the Flyers' organization it is not.
BSchenn? Yes, reluctantly and begrudgingly, but we can't trade him at this point.
That's my favorite option.
No hab gets a big money contract right after their ELC. Price got 2 years, Patches got 2 years. Subban is no different in that respect. Subban would step in as your Number 1 from the day he steps on the ice.
