Sending him back down to the Marlies so he can play in all situations 5 on 5, pk, pp and get his legs going again. With the short season there is no room to ease a guy back into the lineup. If this was an 82 game season you can afford to bring in along slowly but not in a 48 gamer.
Also in the AHL there is more practice time in between games which is what he needs
He will probably be back up in 10-14 days once he is back to full speed.
He's just not ready ...man.
