A lot of fans are smarter and more educated, though. A lot of posters on this board are. True, those ones haven't been inside NHL boardrooms yet. But if they were, they'd be smarter and more educated and be capable of doing every bit as much/better as NHL executives/ex-players. But then, a lot wouldn't too.
