So you'd rather let our star players walk then pay them what they're worth? This makes so little sense it's startling.

Next season the team will have Gallagher, Galchenyuk, and at minimum one of Tinordi, Ellis or Beaulieu on the team on ELC's. Not to mention Diaz and Emelin on dirt cheap contracts. The next year Gionta, Markov come off the books or can be renegotiated for cheaper if they want to stay.

To me it looks like the roster is built fine to give PK what he's worth.
