I've been excited about Gelinas since I saw a poster who saw him in the Q say that he reminded him of Pronger. He might never reach quite that level, but I think he is going to be a valuable player.

He is big, mobile, strong defensively, physical when he needs to be, and he has a wicked shot. I'd love to have a guy with his skill set on the Devils defence for many years.

Maybe. It depends on who the other defencemen on the team are, and what sort of quality depth we have. If guys like Urbom, Gelinas, Severson, and Scarlett pan out, or we still have quality veteran players here, then we can pair them. If we want to spread the talent around, then split them. It's a bit early to worry about this, honestly.
