Johnson is good yes but he is not the top pairing D-man we thought he would be. Not even close.

yes because you have:
Stefan Elliot and Tyson barrie who are just like shattenkirk but younger
Varly who is WAY better than elliot. Elliot rides the bench in STL.
Liles was good but overrated.
Forsber and Rattie haven't played in the nhl. Neither has Siemens. Stewart hasn't been the same since breaking his hand in a fight vs a guy from Minny
Eric Johnson has played in the olympics as a 20 YEAR OLD. He's 24 and has been very good for the Avs with little to no help. It's not like he plays with Suter or Weber or even someone like Scuderi.
