Metro Family nights aren't that much cheaper than comparable season tickets. They aren't single seat tickets, you have to buy four of them, so it's in a sense a 'group discount'. There are not that many Family nights in any given season, and they're more often than not against against bronze-level teams.

Compared to me buying a single ticket for a Sens-Leafs game, you're getting a large discount.
