The Blues dominated the whole ice last year, too. Fenwick, basic shot differential, shots against. If you didn't see that last year, you didn't watch them. This year, their goalies have made brilliant saves but also have let up some weak ones. With so few shots against, the numbers are skewed. The skaters will continue to dominate and the goalies will get back to normal with a larger sample size.
They're doing it because they're skilled. Even without huge offensive star forwards, they have great puck control and passing skills and very smart players. It all starts with good defensemen who are good at puck retrieval and movement and goes out from there.
