Not going to discuss value, but the tradedoesn't address any of the Kings primary concerns, and causes a new one:
- Trading Bernier without an NHL ready backup is a new problem.
- Kings need a stay at home who would be able to replace Mitchell/Scuderi when their contracts expire.
- They've traded away a few firsts away to win now, and I'm guessing they would like to have a blue chip prospect coming up.
So, even if the value is fair, it's just not worth it for the Kings to trade Bernier to Edmonton for that package, or even pieces of it.
