He's an ideal fit for a puck possession team that rolls three scoring lines. Loktionov has great vision and hands in tight quarters, and is very solid defensively. He's the kind of player that will do better in the NHL than in the minors because he reads the game at a higher level.

However, for a player his size, he doesn't have pull-away speed. He's quick, but not fast. He is going to thrive in a situation like Detroit that has already proven that it can produce and develop similar players like Hudler and Filppula.

There is just no room for him in Los Angeles and even if there was, he's not a great fit for what the Kings' system demands out of their center ice position.
