First of all.

People talking about cap space. Not just in this thread but other as well.

Penguins will have amost $40m at the deadline. Teams wont need to keep a % unless Pittsburghs management refuses to pay it all which is highly unlikely. This means keeping some of the salary has no value for a pending UFA.


Even if Iginla becomes available, it might not be a bidding war at all concidering he got the NMC. Meaning he can just tell that there is only 1 team he wants to go to and Calgary just have to take what they get or lose him for nothing.
