While they both made mistakes, in retrospect they both didn't have a lot to work with.

Leafs never had a decent enough keeper to take them into the playoffs.

The team also lacked in a lot of areas.

I'll give some credit though to Burke for re-stocking a nearly empty prospectus cupboard.

And somehow finding a way to ship Jason Blake out of town, which was thought of as nearly impossible.
