That sucks. How much over the limit were you going? In Winnipeg, if you're caught going 10 km/h (6 mph) over the limit, it will cost you $181.50. They usually don't bust you for just 10 km/h though. You also get demerits so your car insurance will cost more ($100-200 maybe?).

I've been pulled over in the US a couple of times but they've always let me go with a warning (knock on wood, for next time). They don't want to scare off the tourists in Minnesota and North Dakota, I guess. Actually I've never been pulled over in ND - the Interstate speed limit is 75 mph, which is usually plenty fast...
