Hemsky is Hemsky, if he is good enough to get young talent in return, why would we trade him? For whatever reason, the Oilers seem to love the guy and decided it was more beneficial to keep him, rather than trade him for probably nothing much.

As for Smyth, I highly doubt we could have gotten much more for him.

I think Iginla's trade value has dropped considerably, along with Kipper. If we are talking about managing assets, I would have thought the Flames would have traded both when they were at the top of their game. You would have gotten one hell of a return at that point, but Feaster seems to think he can do it with keeping them, so who am I to question it.
Now it would be a very short sighted move on Feasters part to move those 2, because IF they start playing good enough to trade the Flames will be winning a lot of games, and if they don't then what is the point, you don't trade your captian and franchise forward for peanuts and Kipper still has servicable starting seasons remaining, or if nothing else he can make one hell of a backup for Ramo.
