Always felt like, despite constantly being told by Poile during 04-05 that the Preds were built for the "New NHL", that the crackdown on interference hurt them coming out of that lockout and it may hurt them this time as well. A clutch-and-grab, high interference game benefits teams with less talented forwards like the Preds. Add in a blueline that has Weber, Hannan and Gill and it minimizes the effectiveness of those players as well.
edit: It's also one of the reasons that it felt to me like the Preds really picked it up last season and seemed to have that "It" factor as the refs had really loosened up on the interference as the season went on.
