If they actually play him on a scoring line, the theory that he is being showcased for a trade seems more likely.

He's going to play in the bottom six, in an attempt to kick start the secondary scoring

"We thought we'd have more secondary scoring," Holland said. "It's only eight games. Our big guys have produced, but we haven't gotten much from anyone else. Tatar has played real well in Grand Rapids. He had a hat trick. We'll put him in lineup tomorrow night, figure out a way to jump-start some offense. We're hoping he can come up and give us some jump and we can get some secondary scoring."
