In the early years there was a fanbase close to what the current season ticket holders are. Interest was lost and we struggled to put 10k in the building. I recall games with less than 7k in those lean years. Then the team started making the playoffs and the numbers started to climb to the current level.

All that said to point out if the team is not competitive just as the titians the past few years there will be many empty seats again. And my poin is that the team has two commodities to improve the team quickly Rinne and Weber, losing Rinne would devistate the team and Weber could be replaced without the defense falling to complete disarray.

So I think the question of how far the hardcore would go to have the team thrive is relivent.
