While I would love a PP specialist, I don't think having a Weber or Diaz paired with Stralman would give us the cushion we need on the bottom pairing.

Overall, I've been really unimpressed with Richards ability to QB the PP since he arrived here. I'm not pinning the blame on him, but he's not particularly creative on the point and his one-timer has gone to hell. I keep seeing MDZ defer to him on a regular basis instead of taking control and running the show. Having two guys out there running the PP is almost as bad as having nobody to run it. Just leads to more confusion.
I have to agree. I don't understand it, because even when he had a dangerous one-timer, he still passed the puck a lot on the PP. Now, he hardly looks to pass. Every PP, it's shoot, shoot, shoot. Like he's taking his cues from the morons in the crowd.

Then again, the team's power play scheme in general continues to confound. Most of the time, of course, there is hardly any rotation, and the lack of crispness in passing continues to be frustrating as hell.

I would like to see him take a lot less shots in general and make a lot more passes. He was always an excellent passer, I don't get it. Nor do I get why Johnny Cakes would support this decision, as Richards' passing was a big part of Tampa's success.
