With a long history of injuries, inconsistent effort
, and no one knows what he will demand on the market. "Sign for less" may not be an option. Maximizing his value by netting a return IS an option.
Callahan and Staal are re-signing?
Richards and Nash contracts are worse IMO than re-signing Gaborik. Gaborik has the better contract now, and will have the better contract if he re-signs. I cant see his next cap hit being as high. Even Hank. I think both realized they had to cash in before they were in their early 30s and they could re-up on deals where the cap is a million or two less. Especially since most of Gaborik's current deal is his prime years.
When? 5 years ago in Minnesota?
