I agree about Vanek; and Vanek is a bonafide producer, a name, a left wing, salary so he negates the plus of Miller and probably Myers.

Ovie is definetly one of the "faces" of the NHL, a true elite "talent," the name non-hockey fans associate with the league. He might not be producing at the level he once was but he'd be the typical guy who's head has to be on totally straight to be that elite talent.....

which brings me to.....

"He ain't going anywhere!"

Lindy Ruff.

There are many of us Sabre fans that think Vanek could've been a more bonafide star in this league under a different coach, he doesn't...wait, not this year, he's getting the mintues but in years past, Lindy doesn't play Vanek in Total Ice Time where other stars are. Lindy also has a stereotype that he doesn't like Russians, probably mainly because of how utterly lazy Afinagnov was at times. Ovie would not be a good fit in Buffalo, and please correct me if you think I'm wrong but Ovie doesn't scream"defensive-first" mentality.

I can't see him being a Buffalo target.
