Slovan management were (jokingly) mentioning Sir Alex Ferguson as role model regarding the contract length... but more appropriate comparisons would be Lindy Ruff (Sabres coach since 1997) or Barry Trotz (Predators coach since 1998). Keeping a coach long-term can work out fine, and of Čada's qualities, there is little doubt (despite how Omsk treated him). I'd say that Slovan's successes this season are about 30% due to Čada, 30% due to Janus, and the rest due to the rest.

(Now, it would be tragic if Slovan failed to move on to this year's play-offs after signing such a contract -- it can still happen, I'm afraid.)
