If Weiss want to stay, and Tallon has room in the budget to make it happen (which he should considering that Weiss is already on the books for $3.1M) there's no reason to trade him.
Just IMO, but if Weiss wants to test the UFA waters, then everything goes out the window. I'm not saying he does, but given this is the first time he's been UFA eligible, it's not ludicrous to think he might want to see what his market value is. He's a skill guy, and would likely be one of the more attactive UFA's available, which would increase his payday.
Cause Garrison wanted to play in his home area, management wanted to re-sign him, had nothing to do with money.
Weiss doesn't want finances and/or negotiations to be a distraction while he's playing. He wants to focus on the season, that's all he said.
If he's indicated to Tallon that he simply won't re-sign, Tallon will move him, unless the race is tight. And Tallon has recently said that he wants Weiss re-signed.
So you're saying there's a chance!
