My problem with that penalty, is that the defenseman knows damn well there's pressure on him right there, and he basically tries to shield the puck by offering only his back to Gallagher in that battle. We'd consider that chicken **** hockey in my day. Take the hit if you're going to play the puck, don't puss out and offer your back to the guy you know is there.

Sometimes a guy just lazily/recklessly rides a guy's numbers for a ride into the boards, but there ARE times when I notice defensemen not bracing/positioning themselves "properly" to make those kinds of plays while also making a play on the puck - if that's their decision in that situation. It kills me, but what are the refs to do, right? It's how they play defense these days (and forwards do it as a tactic to win puck battles, too).
