A casino is going to benefit Hamilton regardless of where it is, but it almost feels like a replay of the stadium debacle where they get a solution that is a fraction of what it could be. The question is will the casino not being downtown cause some bidders to drop out, thus elimating some possible spin-off benefits. It is an already difficult question that's been muddied by too much hyperbole.
Everytime I go to downtown Hamilton, I can see the changes taking place. It is clear that the city has turned a corner without the benefit of casino, but at the same time a casino/hotel complex could make downtown that much more of a draw for not just people but for other developers and businesses.
SERIOUSLY!? I'd call Sam an idiot but he's actually very smart. He knows very well the infrastructure in Flamborough would need to be upgraded. To which the City has to pay.
OLG to me has made it very clear they don't want Flamborough. They've had the race tracks lease agreement for the slots and not signed off on it.
Bottom line what Sam is doing is stalling, the referendum stall tactic wasn't going to work now he's switched gears to flamborough. Knowing this will cause just enough delay in the process that they won't have to make a decision one way or another. OLG will walk and take Flamborough slots with them.
More so done with this city and the clowns ruining it.
