The Isles don't give up a 2nd rounder unless Thomas plays. Tolling the contract means they keep his rites for next year. Don't have to pay him if he doesn't report. They'd be really stupid if they don't toll that contract. Also, keeps them above the cap floor next year. Or, if Thomas wants to play but not with them. They can always deal him.
