First round bye

It's going to be interesting to see if the Bisons can clinch that second bye. They must lose and Sask must win. If Manitoba hangs on, they will avoid that dangerous first round best of 3 series. In reality, if a team is to challenge Alberta for the conference title, I think that the bye is the key.
For Saskatchewan, who is hosting Nationals, they would match up against Regina. Both teams have split 4 games, with 3 of 4 of those games being decided in overtime and all 4 games were 1goal matches. So, the Huskies will have thier hands full with the hillbillies down the road. It would be a long layoff heading into Nationals if they were to be upset in that first round. If Saskatchewan fails to defend the CanadaWest title, they will be grouped with the number 1 ranked team in the nation, unless that is Alberta.
