To scelaton - last year even with the concussion he put up 44 points in 40 games. He's been above a ppg in every year except two. One of those as a rookie where he put up 69 points.

Lets be honest, he's not gonna be available and If he was wed be outbid by a team with better depth.

He's the guy Washington should build around. Trading him makes no sense imo
My point about added risk was that he put up all or most of those points before his concussion. Don't get me wrong, I think Backstrom is immensely talented and, injury free, he would be just what we needed. But, we are all familiar with great players who have had serious concussions from which they have never fully recovered or, at least, have cut short brilliant careers.
