Seto/Stewart/etc are surefire NHL players. There's a even chance that whoever drafted won't be... Cullen posts up the averages of players drafted that turn into NHL players (100 NHL games). I'm pretty sure that the later half of the first round isn't much over 50% - if that - but feel free to go look that up. The 2nd round goes to something like 25%.

So while you want to be very choosy about who you trade that 1st round pick for, trading that pick for an NHL player isn't always the wrong thing.

In addition, whomever is drafted won't help the team for at least 3-5 years.

I've been looking for trouble... but trouble hasn't been cooperating!
