Philly still has a lot of quality defensive prospects. Keep in mind that Johnsson is still young and is an excellent defenseman, while Pitkanen will be a top 5 defenseman in the league in under 3 years IMO. He's phenominal. Johnsson is a quality #2-3 defenseman. Seidenberg can develop into a solid second pairing guy, Vandermeer I can see develop into a #4-5.

The quality is there in Philly, they may need to replace Weinrich or Desjardins in a few years, but finding those solid-yet-unspectacular defensemen aren't too difficult or expensive.
