I will always maintain that JFJ would have been a fine GM if he'd had the authority to rebuild the team ahead of the lockout like he wanted to.
Management overruled him and he had to make a push which resulted in the trading of picks and youth for playoff berths.
Its too bad because if he had been allowed to rebuild the team through the draft like he wanted, it looks like he would have done a good job of it.
I'll also add that the way he handled himself in the media when the scummy team management was actively seeking his replacement in a not so discreet way was really classy.
