Not to be too critical, but the Flyers are fine and going to be fine for awhile. With the line combinations switching every other shift, and the youth, it will take a period of time to adjust. "Flyers hockey" is whatever the current culture of the Flyers is.

Currently, it looks like the organizational philosophy is to be stacked at center, have a lot of bangers and an aggressive forecheck. Less finesse. Press. Have decently big to very big defensemen (Kimmo is so talented it doesn't matter) who are mobile with a Kimmoesque defenseman to QB the PP (Ghost, Gus). Harder workers who refuse to take a shift off. You always want a good goaltender.

So how are they doing? With Cooter/G/B.Schenn the middle is set for a decade. Wingers aren't difficult to pick up, plus they overstock the center and move to wing as needed. Defense? They couldn't predict the loss of Pronger, so they had to swap a big, mobile forward, for L.Schenn. Defense gets fixed or they get a #1 somehow, this team is perfectly fine. It needs to grow a bit. The forwards they have are, for the large part, good physical guys who can scrum in the corners, which is what they want.
