It makes sense if you think about it though, to go slightly off topic. A lot of higher drafted players are likely given more of a chance to make it in the NHL versus the lower drafted players. I'd love to see stats that show the number of players signed to contracts and where they fall in the draft rounds. If 1 player in the 6th round makes it to the NHL, and 10 2nd rounders make it, it might be all the same if it's the same ratio under contract.

Needless to say, its considered the more talented a player is the earlier they go in a draft.
